Movies I'll always watch if they're on T.V.

I know it's a rather random collection of movies but the hubbie always jokes that I will always watch these movies if they're on T.V.  Lucky me, they are all on fairly often.  I can say that I've watched all five of these within the last two or three weeks!

Starting off with Father of the Bride.  Who doesn't love these movies?  I still remember watching Father of the Bride as a kid and soon before I got married (a definite must for all bride-to-be's).  I love the humor:  "Daddy, he's a lot like you....except he's brillant!", "Why don't we just charge people,  Then we'll make money on the wedding",   Haha!

Double Jeopardy and the Fugitive are both movies with two likable main characters that are wrongfully accused of killing their spouses.  Who doesn't love Ashley Judd's escapades to go kill her husband?  I love that she doesn't give a flip because she's already been tried and convicted for his murder.  And in the Fugitive, I love Harrison Ford's many intelligent attempts to figure out who killed his wife while successfully hiding from the police.
Lastly, Forrest Gump can bring me to tears every time.  Its so amazing how the character of Forrest experiences so much of American history during his lifetime but so sad how he looses the two women that mean so much to him along the way.  I think this conversation is so sweet!  Jenny: "Why are you so good to me?"  Forrest:  "You're my girl!"  Jenny:  Pause.  "I'll always be your girl."  Sigh! :)

So let's hear it!  What are you favorite movies that come on T.V. that you always stop to watch?

  1. Wow - you and I have the same taste in movies - I LOVE these. Other good picks - anything with Reese Withersppon - she is so endearing in Sweet Home Alabama. And, don't tell, but any romantic comedy with Jennifer Lopez (Maid in Manhattan...).

  2. Jenna, you know like Katie, I love my Reese, ever since you had rented "Legally Blonde", and it was just sitting here, and I popped it in knowing nothing about it. I watched it by myself and laughed out loud thru the whole movie, and you know how afterwards I could not stop yacking about it. We do love smart, sassy blondes! And you forgot "My Best Friend's Wedding"! Loved, loved Cameron Diaz in that movie, not so much since. I watched "Titanic" again recently on T.V. but just could not watch the end especially since we are cruising the Med this summer. "Father of the Bride" is classic, also tear jerker in parts. That reminds me of "The Jerk" also starring Steve Martin. Remember how I laughed until I cried when we watched it at Steph's cool condo near the Battery in Chs.? I also really like "How to Drop a Guy in 10 Days" and hate to admit it but "The Hangover" was hilarious, watched it on plane back from Paris. I like the Jennifer Lopez movies, too. Oh yea,"Baby Boom" is so good, and I have to admit "The Notebook" is one of the best romantic movies. I watch "Gone with the Wind" every couple of years. I also like going to see any movie with you! Sorry we did not get to see Reese today!

  3. Both FOTB's are my most favorite movies in the whole world! "Every party has a pooper, that's why we invited you, George Banks!" I also love Mrs. Doubtfire, and like Kaite, any of those chick flicks with JLo :)

  5. The Notebook!! Gets me every time - and by the end I'm a bawling mess. Love me some Ryan Gosling and doesn't hurt that it's mostly filmed in Charleston - Allie's (Rachel McAdams) summer home is Boone Hall Plantation - where Hank and I's wedding is in less than 3 months!!! :)
